Pain can feel overwhelming—physically and emotionally. I know that firsthand. Before becoming a physical therapist and functional medicine health coach, I spent 18 years as a Division 1 gymnast, pushing my body to its limit. The result? A long list of injuries and surgeries:

  • Left ankle reconstruction—twice

  • Right knee reconstruction

  • Hip scopes on both sides

  • Bilateral hip replacements (yes, both hips on the same day at age 50)

  • Injuries to my back, neck, shoulders, and elbows

You could say I’ve been through it all.

But here’s the good news: I’ve learned how to thrive again. I live an active, mostly pain-free life—not because of luck, but because I’ve spent years applying what I know about movement, recovery, and healing to my own body.

In a single 90-minute coaching session, we’ll take a deep dive into your health history, current challenges, and upcoming procedure to uncover any factors that could impact your healing—whether related to chronic pain, inflammation, mobility, or lifestyle. You’ll walk away with a personalized plan that blends physical therapy and functional medicine strategies to support faster healing, reduce pain, improve mobility, and help you feel confident heading into surgery.

Specific Coaching Call Breakdown

The goal of this call is to help you thrive after surgery by optimizing your physical, nutritional, and mental health before surgery. We’ll create a clear, personalized plan to support a smoother recovery, reduce pain, rebuild strength and mobility, and minimize the risk of post-operative complications—when applicable.

We will talk about and have a plan for:

  • Nutritional recovery: Healing foods, hydration, supplements

  • Sleep: How it affects healing.

  • Customized Pain Management Strategies: Ice, exercises, breathing

  • Movement and Mobility: When indicated - walking, improving fitness, if possible. 

  • Community and Connection: Who can help, not be isolated, ask for help

  • When applicable: Household checklist (Having everything you need at home before surgery: support, meds, ice packs, food prep, etc.)
